Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Done Right Electrical. These Terms and Conditions govern all trade services, quotes, repairs, installations, Level 2 ASP operations, and emergency call-outs provided by Done Right Electrical Services Pty Ltd (ABN 32 675 365 867), trading as Done Right Electrical ("we", "us", or "our"), to any property owner, tenant, builder, strata manager, or commercial client ("Customer", "you", or "your"). By accepting our quotation, booking attendance, or authorising works, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Scope of Works and Statutory Standards
All electrical contracting services performed by Done Right Electrical are carried out by licensed tradespeople in strict compliance with the Home Building Act 1989 (NSW), the Electricity Supply Act 1995 (NSW), the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW), and the relevant Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 3000 (the Australian/New Zealand Wiring Rules) and distributor Service and Installation Rules.
Where required by NSW law, a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) will be completed and lodged with NSW Fair Trading and the electricity network distributor (Ausgrid or Endeavour Energy) following the completion of electrical installations or alterations.
2. Quotations, Pricing and Variations
- Quotations: Quotations remain valid for 30 calendar days from the date of issue unless specified otherwise in writing.
- Upfront Pricing: Where work is quoted on an upfront or fixed-price basis, the scope of work will be confirmed with the Customer before commencing.
- Variations: Unforeseen concealed wiring defects, non-compliant existing switchboards, deteriorated legacy cable (such as vulcanised Indian rubber or split-conduit cabling), hazardous materials (including asbestos or lead), or structural impediments not visible during initial inspection may require a scope variation. Any price or time adjustment will be explained and agreed with the Customer prior to continuing work.
3. Site Access, Power Outages and Safety
- Access: The Customer must ensure clear, safe, and unhindered access to the work area, main switchboard, meter enclosures, roof cavities, and subfloor areas during scheduled attendance.
- Power Interruptions: Electrical testing and installation require temporary isolation of power circuits or whole-property isolation. The Customer is responsible for taking necessary precautions for sensitive electronic equipment, computers, refrigeration, or medical apparatus during required isolations.
- WHS Compliance: We reserve the right to suspend or cease work without penalty if site conditions pose an imminent safety hazard to our electricians, occupants, or the public.
4. Level 2 Accredited Service Provider (ASP) Operations
For Level 2 electrical services (including overhead service lines, underground consumer mains, private pole repairs, switchboard replacements, metering, and service fuse connections), work is governed by the accreditation framework under the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) and the rules of the local network distributor (Ausgrid or Endeavour Energy).
Network distributor application fees, connection notice charges, or meter exchange tariffs imposed by energy retailers or distribution network service providers remain the Customer's responsibility.
5. Payment Terms and Ownership of Goods
- Residential Accounts: Invoices are payable immediately upon substantial completion of the approved works on-site, payable via credit card, approved electronic transfer, or agreed merchant facilities.
- Commercial Accounts: Approved commercial and strata accounts must be settled within the agreed invoice terms (typically 7 to 14 days from date of invoice).
- Title of Goods: Property and title in all electrical fittings, switchgear, cabling, protective devices, and hardware supplied by us remain with Done Right Electrical until payment has been received in full.
6. Guarantees and Warranties
- Workmanship Guarantee: Done Right Electrical provides a lifetime workmanship guarantee on all electrical installation labour carried out by our team. If any defect arises due to faulty workmanship, we will rectify it promptly at no additional labour charge.
- Manufacturer Warranties: Products, fixtures, appliances, switchboards, EV chargers, and materials supplied carry manufacturer warranties. We facilitate warranty claims with reputable Australian suppliers and distributors.
- Exclusions: Warranties do not cover damage caused by external events (such as lightning strikes, network power surges, flood, or fire), physical tampering, unauthorised alterations by third parties, pest damage, or normal wear and tear.
- Australian Consumer Law: Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.
7. Emergency and 24/7 Call-Out Service
Done Right Electrical provides genuine 24/7 phone contact and urgent call-out support across Sydney. Response and attendance times are subject to prevailing traffic, severe weather conditions, and prior emergency commitments. Exact arrival estimates are provided directly upon telephone triage and booking.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by the Australian Consumer Law and NSW legislation, Done Right Electrical shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, loss of business revenue, or downtime resulting from pre-existing electrical infrastructure defects or supplier network outages.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
